We’re playing at Club Cumming! 😈
Oh my GOD reader I thought I sent this WEEKS ago. But we’re still ahead of the game! 💪
I cannot believe that our next show is going to be at Club Cumming (yes, Alan’s very own real life Kit Kat Club) on March 25th. But that’s not all that’s cool and unique about this show – in fact, this is without a doubt our coolest and most unique show yet. 🤭
You see, reader, March 25th is our beloved bassist Clay’s 30th birthday. 🥳 So we’re putting on a very special birthday show for him, complete with themed covers, special arrangements, audience interaction, and something we can only currently describe as “CHAOS MODE.” It’s almost going to tip more toward cabaret than rock concert, with all the chuckles and tears and cake one would crave at their 30th birthday party.
Somehow I’ve buried the lede a bit here, because arguably the MOST fun part of this show is … we’re having a costume contest! 😱 No one loves a theme more than Clay, and the theme for his birthday show is “dress as someone (or something) with the same birthday as you.” We wanted the theme to be open to creative interpretation so people wouldn’t feel pressured to spend a lot of time or money on a costume. The idea is to spend a little time on research and creative thinking to find something you can put together easily; no need for literal or photo-accurate costumes, and we will not fact check anyone. 😈 So have fun with it! We put together this helpful infographic to get your gears turning:
The winner will be going home with some super cute prizes, btw – some merch, maybe something one-of-a-kind and handmade by me, and probably both of my drink tickets. I hope that’s incentive enough to get inspired and show up in costume!
And yes, that’s another exciting thing: for the first time, we will have a merch table! 🤩 It’s a small collection to start, including CDs (physical media is back, babyyyyy), baseball caps, and keychains. Most of it is still a WIP, and we’re working to expand our offerings for future shows. But it’s been a blast designing these and I’m so excited to share them with you all!
If you’re not in NYC or otherwise unable to come to the show, but you still want a merch item, get in touch with me and we’ll figure something out. We are very new to the world of commerce lol but we can make it happen!
And speaking of being unable to attend, we always greatly appreciate sponsored tickets. If you feel inclined to pay for a ticket so that someone without financial means can attend the show for free, please reach out! They always get used and always mean the world to us.
See what I mean about this being our coolest and most unique show?! I am so excited, and I really hope to see you there! Here’s the ticket link once more, as well as the partiful, which I’m hoping to be able to use as a buy-nothing group for costume pieces.
And btw we’re playing the early show, no openers, just us from around 7:30-9. Your bedtime is always safe with us. 😉
Thanks as always for reading, reader. loveyousomuchokaybyeeeeeee 🧡
