pride show! π AND i want to hear from you! π¬
Happy pride month, dear readers! ππ³οΈβπ Iβm proud to be queer, and Iβm honored to know, love, support, and uplift both my personal community and the greater LGBTQ+ community β especially in 2025. My pride shows are always among my favorite gigs to perform, and for the third year in a row I get to make it happen! πΊ

Join us on Wednesday, June 11th at The Sultan Room for an evening with some wonderful queer artists! Weβve built the loveliest bill of performers β you might recognize Pat and Betty from some of my previous shows (and from their work on my records, both past and future π), now performing their original music with their respective bands! Youβll hear from The Gender Gnomes, Kamila Kay, me, and Beche β all before 10pm curfew!
Oh, and the theme is DISCO β bust out your rhinestones, sequins, glitter, metallics, jewelry, bling of any kind. Think bright, loud, and of course PROUD! πͺ©
Tickets are around $20 in advance and a little bit more day-of-show. Grab your tickets here: https://link.dice.fm/ritacastagna
As always, if you are interested in sponsoring a ticket OR receiving a sponsored ticket, get in touch! They always get used and are always appreciated. πΈ
[[I actually saw another show at The Sultan Room last night, and let me tell you β I LOVE the vibe in there. Whether you prefer to sit at a table with a drink and a snack or stand and jam to the music, thereβs a place for you. Itβs also RIGHT outside the subway, making the journey to Brooklyn a lot less daunting for this uptown girl. Even if you donβt always love a trek to Bushwick, I think youβll love it this time. π]]
Before I go, Iβve been meaning to ask yβall something. ππ I know that in this age of late-stage capitalism and fascist regimes and the strangle-hold of the attention economy, people are abandoning social media. I definitely have been! I deleted Tiktok a few years ago; I canβt stomach twitter for more than ten minutes a year; and facebook has been off my radar for close to a decade now. Iβd probably leave Instagram too if I didnβt rely so much on it for promotion and maintaining my social network. As a private citizen, Iβm fully ready to sever my dopamine receptors from this digital hellscape, but as an up-and-comer in the music world, I donβt want to shun my potential future audience.β¨
Which brings me to my question: as music listeners and patrons of the arts, where do you find new artists and concerts? Are you still happy with Tiktok and insist I get back on it? Do you prefer private spaces like Substack and this very newsletter? Are you virtually unplugged these days and only interface with your real life community? And if youβre a person who receives multiple channels of info from me (this, Instagram, Partiful, etc), which do you prefer and which exhaust you?
I eagerly await your insights as always, dear readers. Thanks again for reading, and Iβll see you on the 11th! π₯°
